Top Ten Meaningless Comments - Part 2

As many of you have read in my previous post, I looked long and hard for the Top Ten Comments That Work In Any Situation to save you time when leaving posts around the web.
I fully intended to update my list sooner but I’ve been too busy and basically that’s my only excuse.
WARNING: These comments should not be used lightly. They are absolutely meaningless and will not generate the type of return traffic that you’re interested in.
If you’re only interested in getting on a high Page Rank Top Commentators list then use these like mad!
These are the comment’s I’ve got this round including the Lewis Empire reader who suggested them (no they did not use them here!)

As the most useless? I’d have to agree. I’ve had people use lol when the comment they made wasn’t even funny!

I do less without those type of comments. I moderate the comments when they are first to be published, if there is a similar comment I will simply delete it or if not (depends on my mood) even mark it as spam, because thats what those BS comments are.
If one can’t really contribute to a post, he should actually hesitate to “waste” his and bloggers time.
I agree with you that these type of comments add very little value; however, I believe that if I’m going to open my Empire to the world then I’ll let the comments through (although I block spam with Akismet and any blatant marketing junk).

That one would really confuse a blogger if they didn’t give you a link in the first place!
Dang! If I knew you were doing a Round II, I would have made note of some of the more meaningless comments I’ve received lately. I’ve just been deleting them. Silly me!
I’m sure I’ll have some in a day or two though. LOL!
I’m always interested in receiving these comments via email or through these posts. I think it’s great when you can find little things like this around the web.

Oh man, I can’t tell you how much of that I have to see every day, be it my blog or someone else’s. I’d have to agree with SEO Optimization, it really is a big time-waster wading through entries that have no point or something to share. Do you feel obligated to respond to them? I try to respond to (or at least acknowledge) all posts, but it gets overwhelming sometimes.
I think that anyone who posts these type of post is going for the Top Commentator’s list. In that case I don’t feel obligaed to respond.
I think it’s important to respond if someone asks a question or challenges your view. If it’s a general statement or something, the real value to the commentator is in the visits they get from other readers who see value in their reply.
Akismet is not blocking all the spammers out then eh? Perfect example why you should always, always have a pre-approved comment before you let a commenter loose in your blog….
Having a little comment is the least of my worries when it comes to spam. You should see some of the ’stuff’ that Akismet actually catches!

Although……. Maybe I can save time by just typing in your number. Why type in “Nice” when I can just say “#7″. You might have just started a new fad!
I think that might work. For anyone who wants to use just a comment number system, please ensure that you refer back to LewisEmpire.com in your comment so people know what you’re talking about!
(Does this defeat the purpose of a quick number system?)
